Telehealth Regulatory Waiver Request
Template and Waiver Request Procedures for Submission
As you may know from the Telehealth Guidelines recently released by the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), they do not allow for audio service delivery, and they also do not allow for verbal consent for Intensive Case Management (ICM) services. Attached please find a Telehealth Waiver Request Template from OMHSAS in addition to the bulletin, OMHSAS 16-03 Revised Procedure for Waiver of OMHSAS Program Regulations and Standards. This template should be utilized:
- when requesting use of verbal consent for Intensive Case Management (ICM) to deliver telehealth services when a signature cannot be obtained
- when requesting use of audio only service delivery for Outpatient Psychiatric Services when an individual does not have access to video or for urgent situations
- when requesting use of audio only service delivery for Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Clinic Services when an individual does not have access to video or for urgent situations
