Office of Children, Youth and Families Memo: Guidance Regarding Maintaining Confidentiality When Sharing Information with Schools

Please see the attached informational memo regarding maintaining confidentiality when sharing information about students in foster care with schools.  Also see the attached Identification of Students in Foster Care to School Points of Contact Form that County Children and Youth Agencies (CCYAs) are advised to utilize when notifying LEAs of a student’s entry into foster care or change in foster care placement to ensure appropriate exchange of information between CCYAs and schools.
