Youth Level of Service (YLS) and Court Testimony

This 3 hour training will walk participants through the risk/needs assessment tool, Youth Level of Service (YLS) 2.0, utilized by all 67 probation departments in the Commonwealth.  During the review of the YLS, participants will explore all domains and the definitions of each item will be reviewed to understand how a Probation Officer selects each item.  After the review of the YLS, participants will focus on how to structure Court Testimony regarding youth in out of home placement or a community based program.  The Court Testimony will focus on presentation of the YLS and treatment goals for the youth served.  Participants will have to opportunity to discuss issues and ask questions around the YLS and the presentation of Court Testimony.
