Have you ever been confused by a child or youth’s behaviors, especially when the situation did not seem to match their behavioral response? A trauma informed approach may help to examine and discover new ways to view behaviors and determine best fit interventions. During this 2-hour webinar we will examine the effects of trauma on a developing human brain and learn how that may be related to current overall functioning. Trauma can occur from being exposed to certain environmental factors as well as from experiencing any form of abuse, domestic violence, neglect, and/or serious medical issues. We will discuss potential parenting strategies and therapeutic interventions that may help the child, youth, or now adult to continue their journey of healing and self-improvement. During this webinar we will:

  • Recognize the effects of being exposedto traumatic experiences/stress
  • Review the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) and their impact on behavior and child development
  • Review trauma informed techniques to guide a child/youth’s behavior
  • Discover various and alternative therapeutic interventions that may help
  • Explore strategies to manage traumatic stress and promote resiliency for the child/youth and the caregiver
