Engaging Fathers for Meaningful Case Management
Engaging fathers and paternal relatives is a lost art that many social workers unintentionally overlook when working with children and families. When fathers are not engaged in the case management process, half of the child’s relatives are also unengaged in case planning and achieving stability and permanency for the child. Participants will learn how to locate fathers and dispel the myths that fathers are absence because they do not want to be involve in their children’s lives. Participants will learn methods for working, empowering, and strengthening the family and ensuring that fathers are pivotal in the decision-making process.
