Engagement Skills: Effectively Engaging Children and their Families

This course teaches the basics of family and community engagement for foster care professionals. Participants will learn to recognize and understand key concepts of family dynamics and structure including roles, rules, rituals and relationships. Participants will also be able to articulate the impact of family dynamics on their ability to engage families in the work of providing positive, structured, secure, nurturing home environments for children. Additionally, participants learn how to utilize community resources to foster positive development for children.
