Community Behavioral Health (CBH) – Tobacco Recovery Initiative Messaging

The CBH Tobacco Recovery Initiative seeks to address tobacco-related health disparities by ensuring that Philadelphians with behavioral health challenges have equitable access to evidence-based tobacco interventions. As part of the initiative, CBH encourages Providers to share the following snippet from a study about tobacco-free policy outcomes for an inpatient substance use treatment center published in Health Promotion Practice when appropriate:

“Tobacco-free policies can improve tobacco use outcomes among persons in treatment for substance use. By implementing tobacco-free policies, substance use treatment agencies have an opportunity to realize the recovery-oriented value of treating all addictions.”

For more information about the CBH Tobacco Recovery Initiative, please email Carol Larach, Director of Integrated Care Programs.
