PCCYFS Press Conference at the Capitol

PCCYFS is a member of the Coalition of Critical Service Providers, a group of membership associations spearheaded by the United Way of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Association for Nonprofit Organizations, advocating for state leadership to pass a budget. On October 2, the Coalition held a press conference at the Capitol to urge the General Assembly and the Governor to pass a budget.

Ron Bunce, Children’s Home of York President/CEO, spoke on behalf of PCCYFS to stress the realities for Pennsylvania’s children and families when a budget is not enacted on time. A number of PCCYFS members joined the event, including Bethany Children’s Home, Valley Youth House, Families United, Common Sense Adoption Services, Children’s Home of Easton, and Pinebrook Family Answers, among others.

As Pennsylvania enters the fourth month of the budget impasse, PCCYFS continuing to ask members to reach out to their legislators.

The Coalition of Critical Service Providers includes providers from for-profit, nonprofit, and county agencies dedicated to delivering critical services throughout the Commonwealth. The members include: Community Action Association of Pennsylvania, Feeding PA, Hunger- Free PA, Pennsylvania Association of Area Agencies on Aging, Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Associations Pennsylvania Council of Children, Youth and Family Services, Pennsylvania State Alliance of YMCAs, Pennsylvania Head Start Association, Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children, Pennsylvania Coalition to Advance Respect, Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association of Pennsylvania.
