Jessica Ritter, who is with The State Office of Safe Kids Pennsylvania (which is a program dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injuries) has for the past 2 years, been working with the State Child Death Review (CDR) Coordinator to facilitate in-person Summits. These summits are helpful to bring together Safe Kids groups and local CDR teams so everyone can learn from each other and work together. Local teams should include a representative from the local children and youth agency. There are 2 upcoming summits being held and registration information can be found below.
Registration for our Summit in Altoona is open and can be found here. This Summit will be held at the Arc of Blair County on April 9th from 9am-4pm. This registration will close on March 13th. There is a cap of 40 registrants, due to space constraints.
Registration for our Summit in West Chester is now open and can be found here. This Summit will be held at the Chester County Government Services Center on April 28th from 9am-4pm. This registration will close on April 10th. There is a cap of 60 registrants, due to space constraints -more details about limitations are provided in the registration form.
Both of these Summits will share the same information, so people would only have to register for one. Additionally, a complimentary breakfast and Panera lunch will be provided to attendees. After registration closes, an email with more detailed information (including an official agenda) will be sent to each registered attendee. This year, the Summits will focus on moving from data to action by way of evaluations and quality improvement. We will start the day with learning and then use the afternoon for application.
